Case Management’s Self-Management Workbook

Our Merced clients completed the second portion of case management’s Self-Management workbook. Case Management provides group rehab to teach and instill various techniques clients can use in their everyday lives. The outcome we hope for is that when clients transition out of our program, they leave with a better understanding of their diagnosis as well as ways they can cope with various symptoms. This section introduced clients to the STORC Cycle. STORC is a sequence of five events: Situations, Thoughts, Organic patterns, Response, and Consequence. Clients dove into the definition of each sequence and how each can correlate with their specific diagnosis. This knowledge and understanding gives the clients an opportunity to better understand, control, and react to different internal or external stimuli.
