POSITION SUMMARY:
The Medication Technician will properly and precisely prepare daily or weekly medications to our clients. The position requires focus and detail when preparing medication.
Job Type: Full Time Pay: $25
Work Location: San Joaquin region
RESPONSIBILITIES
Administer medication to all clients.
Count and store medication in correlation to CCL and DHCS regulations. Document all medications on Centrally Stored and Destruction Records, create Medication Administration Records as per each doctor order, count and control all medication brought into and out of the facility.
Assist/Perform all areas of basic nursing care
Transcribes physician orders accurately and in a timely manner and provide staff with full understanding.
Complete new medication intake and monthly weight records for all clients.
Follow and uphold all medication management policies and procedures
Document and notify the prescriber of any changes in behavior or condition relating to medication.
QUALIFICATIONS
Certification as a Medication Technician and must be able to show certification.
One (1) year of experience working as a Medication Technician preferred.
Previous experience with the population to be served and/or work in a similar program setting preferred.
Understanding of psychiatric illness and its treatment.
Knowledge of psychotropic medication.
Ability to read and transcribe doctors’ orders accurately.
Ability to provide nursing care and first aid as needed.
Ability to administer oral and injectable medications.
Ability to perform vitals and FSBS checks.
Act as a team member providing input and reporting observations and concerns regarding medication and clients.
Demonstrate the ability to act professionally.
Demonstrate the ability to act in an appropriate manner in a crisis.
Must be at least 21 years of age. .
Free from State sanctions.
Valid driver’s license.
CPR/First Aid/BLS certification. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to walk or stand for long periods of time.
Ability to travel and work in an office environment.
Ability to climb stairs multiple times a day and be able to lift and/or carry 25 pounds or less.
Ability to sit, rise, kneel, squat, twist, pull bend multiple times a day.
Ability to perform with repetitive maneuvers and manual dexterity.
